Wake County homebuilder Garman Homes has promoted Rebecca McAdoo to the role of chief executive officer and Jake Kaplan to chief financial officer.
The promotions come at the end of Garman’s best year-to-date, says founders Jim Garman, who had been CFO, and Alaina Money-Garman, who had been CEO. McAdoo and Kaplan “earned these promotions over the past several years by exemplifying world-class leadership and dedication to our long-term vision,” the founders said in a statement. The company reports it had “upwards of $150 million” in revenue last year. The company has 56 employees.
“These promotions usher in a new era for Garman Homes, celebrating the achievement of building twice as many homes as in previous years and operating in both the Triangle and Triad markets with capacity and opportunity to continue the trajectory,” according to the release. The company built and closed on more than 360 homes in 10 communities last year.
McAdoo joined Garman in 2018 as division president. The Elon University graduate had previously worked for Ashton Woods Homes and Centex Homes. She is a frequent contributor to the Urban Land Institute, has spoken at numerous industry events and recently joined the New Home Trends Institute’s Future Thinkers Council.
Kaplan also joined Garman in 2018 as the company’s first Fellow. He held roles as controller, followed by vice president of finance – a role where he oversaw multiple projects, including managing a new office build, developing two new websites and growing bank loan facilities to more than $100 million. In 2022, he co-created Garman Academy, a professional development program that provides courses on a range of topics for Garman team members. He managed the Habitat for Humanity of Durham Builders Blitz project – a home constructed from start to finish in seven days.
Other changes at Garman include Julie Primanti becoming director of Lifestyle and Design to foster connections with homebuyers and homeowners. Stacy Brown will continue as division president of Garman Homes, where she will oversee the builder’s development projects across the Triangle and Triad markets.
Garman was founded in 2007 and headquartered in Morrisville, west of Raleigh. Garman builds both move-in ready and custom homes in the Triad and Triangle areas.
