Truist Financial hired former JPMorgan executive Kerry Jessani as head of mid-corporate banking, starting in February. She will join the Charlotte-based company in February and report to Chief Wholesale Banking Officer Kristin Lesher.
Jessani had worked at JPMorgan for more than 20 years, most recently as deputy head of specialized industries for commercial banking. She will be on Truist’s 25-member operating council led by CEO Bill Rogers. JPMorgan is the largest U.S. bank, while Truist was No. 10 by assets as of Dec. 31.
Mid-corporate banking complements the investment corporate banking coverage and capital markets expertise of Truist Securities and bolsters Truist’s commercial banking business, the company said in a release.
Jessani, who has been based in New York, joins Truist following more than 20 years at JP Morgan, most recently serving as deputy head of specialized industries for its commercial banking unit.
She is a graduate of Georgetown University with an MBA from New York University. She began her career at Bear, Stearns & Co.
“Kerry has a track record of success building and growing a national team that delivers industry-specific advice,” Lesher said via a news release.
