Sturm, Ruger CEO sees 41% increase in compensation

Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. CEO Michael Fifer saw his compensation rise 41% to $4.3 million last year, in large part because he received $1.7 million in accrued dividends. Fifer will retire next month as CEO, but will remain as vice chairman. The firearms manufacturer plans to create at least 473 jobs in Mayodan as part of an overall $25.7 million plant project. Ruger, based in Connecticut, currently has some 315 employees there.
