Spectrum adding 200 workers to Charlotte call center

Spectrum will add another 200 new call center workers and management positions by the end of the year to its new call center on Sardis Road in Charlotte.

The cable services and internet provider already employs more than 5,400 workers in the Charlotte area, and almost 12,000 in the state.

The new call center workers will handle calls from current residential and small business customers across Connecticut-based Spectrum’s current 41-state service area.

“Spectrum continues to demonstrate what more and more companies are realizing every day: North Carolina is an ideal place to grow business,” says state Sen. Rachel Hunt, D-Mecklenburg, in a statement from the company.

Workers who reach their targets will earn more than $52,000 annually on average, with top performers earning $70,000 or more, plus incentives, according to the company.

Spectrum has already hired 420 workers at the call center, which opened last year, and plans to hire an additional 200 employees by the end of 2023. The call center has room for more than 100 more workers, according to the company.

Spectrum serves more than 32 million customers in 41 states. The company also distributes news coverage and sports programming to customers through Spectrum Networks.
