Raleigh-based Virtue Labs raises $8.4 million

Raleigh-based Virtue Labs, which has raised more than $73 million over four rounds, has raised another $8.4 million, according to a Form D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.

The company has created hair loss products that have drawn support from actress Jennifer Garner, among others.

Back in May, “Just for Men” parent Combe increased its stake in Virtue Labs, which also hired a new CEO, Jose Palacios, at that time. His consumer brands industry experience includes global leadership positions at Procter and Gamble, Coty, and most recently, Google.

Founded in 2017, Virtue Labs’ products are available at Sephora, Bluemercury, and at salons and retailers throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia. The brand is based on the discovery made by a group of scientists, who found a new way to collect keratin in its pure form, leading to the creation of Alpha Keratin 60ku.

The company has landed on the “World’s Most Innovative Companies” list at magazine Fast Company.

Virtue Labs last raised $3.6 million in April 2022.
