Wis.-based Packers Sanitation Services Inc. is laying off 102 workers at its Monroe operation, located about 27 miles southwest of Charlotte, according to a WARN notice filed with the N.C. Department of Commerce. The permanent layoffs at the Tyson Processing Plant on Hasty St. will take effect Dec. 5. Packers Sanitation is a privately held provider of cleaning and sanitation services for the food industry. It employs more than 17,000 workers across 500 locations, according to the company website.
