Twenty-eight North Carolina companies were recently awarded platinum and gold medals for hiring veterans. The U.S. Department of Labor recognized more than 800 employers by presenting them with the 2024 Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Medallion Award.
I wrote about this program last April, when the application deadline was coming up. The point of earning a platinum or gold HIRE Vets medallion is that veterans and service members transitioning out can tell you are military-friendly. There were 31 companies in North Carolina who gained the designation in 2023, up four from 2022.
There are 36,000 companies in North Carolina with 20 or more employees, so there is potential for a lot more medallions. So there’s five months or so until the 2025 deadline, if you’re interested. Here are the 2024 awardees.
