Charlotte investment firm New Republic Partners made its first acquisition, acquiring Haber Investment Counsel of Atlanta. Terms weren’t disclosed.
New Republic Partners was launched in 2021 with backing from Charlotte’s Belk, Close and Bowles families. It offers investment, advisory and credit services to institutions and high net-worth individuals and institutions.
Cort Haber formed his own company after working as an executive director at JP Morgan’s Private Bank and as a senior vice president at UBS.
“We are looking forward to working with Cort Haber and his team to broaden our
geographic reach and deepen our capabilities in serving successful individuals, families
and institutions,” New Republic CEO Tom Hoops said in a press release. “Their expertise in delivering institutional-quality investment solutions, complex planning, and sophisticated, strategic advice will complement our capabilities.”
Joining New Republic adds “depth and broadens our scope in serving clients with leading-edge investment solutions,” Haber said. He will be a managing director and executive committee member.
