Maine contractor adds Greensboro office

Sargent Corp., a contracting firm based in Orono, Maine, opened a six-person Greensboro office after landing some assignments at Piedmont Triad International Airport.

“This expansion aligns seamlessly with our operations in Virginia and presents exceptional opportunities for growth,” says Justin Porter, vice president of Mid-Atlantic operations at Sargent. “After experiencing substantial growth since 2020, doubling our team size and project volumes, we recognized the need for a permanent foothold in North Carolina.”

The company employs more than 450 people involved in a variety of projects including highways, renewable energy and commercial sites.

It named Chris Horn as regional manager and Tim Harrington and Scott Williams as superintendents in Greensboro.

Sargent has handled a $23 million earth-moving contract to allow for construction of the Boom Supersonic and Marshall Aerospace plants near the Greensboro airport. It also has a $12 million project to demolish the former Hertz rental car site nearby.

The company also has offices in Ashland, Virginia, and Fremont, New Hampshire, in addition to its Maine headquarters.
