Mooresville-based Lowe’s Cos. announced Matthew Hollifield will retire as senior vice president and chief accounting officer. He will remain with the company until December 13, and will then provide consulting services to Lowe’s until February 2020. Lowe’s did not name his replacement in the announcement.
Hollifield joined Lowe’s in 2002 and assumed his current position in 2005. He has more than 30 years of corporate finance and accounting experience, having previously served as chief financial officer for Hickory’s Century Furniture LLC before joining the home retailing giant.
Hollifield graduated from Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and earned an MBA from Duke University. He is also a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
