I am the chairman of the board of directors of St. Peter’s Homes Inc., which provides affordable housing to the homeless. I am also a member of the board of directors of the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross. Most people know the Red Cross as a humanitarian organization that provides relief to victims of disasters, but the Red Cross also helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. My work with them has shown me what a tremendous difference dedicated individuals can make in tackling societal problems.

Vita: Born Dec. 30, 1973, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; bachelor’s from College of William and Mary and law degree from Wake Forest University; wife and three children.
What he’d be if not a lawyer: I would own a brew pub in Park City, Utah, and ski as much as possible.
Why he chose to specialize in this area of law: I was a summer associate at Petree Stockton, now Kilpatrick Stockton, in law school, and I enjoyed working with the people in the real-estate practice group. I ended up starting my practice there, but the decision was based much more on the people than the practice area.
Passions: My family, basketball, skiing, golf and hiking.
Favorite place: Cashiers, Alta, Utah, and Havasu Canyon, Ariz.
Recent reading: The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
