My accounting studies at Arkansas Tech provided me a solid foundation in critical analysis and analytical thinking, plus the financial background helps with a transactional practice. My participation and leadership roles in fraternal and educational organizations showed me the importance of understanding and considering the human element when representing a client. I was also a member of the golf team, and as I reflect, I see that the same attributes of golf attract me to law — strategy and thinking ahead, problem solving and the uniqueness of each situation.
Vita: Born March 14, 1969, in Russellville, Ark.; bachelor’s from Arkansas Tech University, MBA from University of Central Arkansas, law degree from University of Arkansas and LLM in tax studies from Southern Methodist University; wife and three children.
What he’d be if not a lawyer: Remodel or build homes.
Memorable case: One particular transaction is memorable because it involved negotiating the purchase of a firm and developing a unique structure and plan to satisfy regulatory licensing requirements so the purchase would be permissible. After convincing a skeptical seller’s attorney and the licensing agencies, we purchased two other firms so we could comply with the regulatory requirements in completing the original transaction.

Favorite place: Maui and Breckenridge, Colo., are at the top of the list.
