Memorable case: Representing Wake Forest University in purchasing the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum from the city of Winston-
Salem because it involved a unique kind of real estate, it sat at the intersection of the public and private sectors, and it introduced me to people in the athletic department, which is never a bad thing.

What she’d be if not a lawyer: A journalist, which means I would have been laid off and onto my second or third career by now. So probably still a lawyer, but by a longer path.

Favorite place: The front yard of my parents’ home in Davis, which is right on Core Sound. I’m playing with my kids in the yard, my mom is cooking dinner, my dad is in a rocking chair on the porch and my husband is working on the sailboat at the dock. And there are no mosquitoes.

Hero: My husband, because he has saved me more than anyone else on earth, whether from actual danger, from mistakes that I’ve made, or from mistakes that I was about to make.

Recent (favorite) reading: James Dickey’s Deliverance.

Netflix obsession: Stranger Things.

Passions: My family, my faith and food.

Don’t ask her to: Donate to political campaigns. In our bipartisan household, we have a mutual non-donation pact.
