The Women’s Impact Fund of Charlotte named Janet LaBar as its executive director, starting June 30. She previously was CEO of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance from 2019 to 2024.
The fund has 450 members and has invested $8.5 million in 110 grants with a mission of “maximizing women’s leadership in philanthropy through collective giving, education, and engagement,” according to its website.
“Janet brings decades of leadership experience in the Charlotte community and beyond,” Katie Susong, board chair of the fund, said in a statement. “She is widely respected, deeply relational, and brings a strong track record of setting bold visions, managing complex priorities, and driving economic and community growth.”
Before moving to Charlotte, LaBar was president and CEO of Greater Portland Inc., a regional economic development organization.
LaBar succeeds Patricia Massey Hoke, who led the group for six years.
