Julia Wang named CFO at Labcorp

Labcorp’s Chief Financial Officer Glenn Eisenberg will retire and be succeeded by Julia Wang on Dec. 2, the Burlington-based company announced Tuesday. Eisenberg joined Labcorp in 2014, and will remain with the company as a special adviser to the CEO through April.

Wan, 54, joined Cambridge, Massachusetts-based BeiGene in 2020 and left in August. She was CFO for the past three years. She also has worked in finance for Pepsi, Johnson & Johnson, Quest Diagnostics and Alexion Pharmaceuticals. She has a bachelor’s degree from Shandong Normal University in Shandong Province, China and a Duke University MBA.

“Julia brings the right mix and diversity of expertise in diagnostics and drug development as well as pharmaceutical and biotech to lead our financial team into Labcorp’s next phase of growth” Labcorp CEO Adam Schechter said in a release.

During Eisenberg’s years at Labcorp, the company made about 100 acquisitions, investing around $11 billion. It also returned more than $6 billion to shareholders through share repurchases and dividends, Schechter said.

Her base salary is $725,000, and she’s getting a $400,000 sign-on bonus, plus $3.2 million in common and restricted stock options. She also has a target bonus of 100% of her salary ties to performance objectives, according to an SEC filing.

Labcorp provides laboratory services and employs 67,000 people in about 100 countries. It performed more than 600 million tests last year.
