The operator of two American Airlines’ Admirals Clubs at Charlotte Douglas International Airport plans to lay off 91 workers in March.
HMSHost said that the workers would lose their jobs between March 3 and March 17, according to a filing with the N.C. Department of Commerce.
However, Sodexo Magic LLC is taking over providing food and beverage service at the two clubs on March 4, and HMS Host expects many of the impacted workers to receive offers from that company.
The workers are represented by the UNITE H.E.R.E. Local 23 union.
HMSHost is an American highway and airport food-service company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swiss company Dufry. At the Charlotte airport, it also operates the 1897 Market and Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar.
At Piedmont Triad International Airport, it operates the ACC American Cafe and The Local. At Raleigh-Durham International Airport, it operates the ACC American Cafe and La Tapenade.
Sodexo Magic is a joint venture between Sodexo and NBA Hall of Famer Earvin “Magic” Johnson.
