High Point is known as the “Home Furnishings Capital of the World,” boasting a wide array of furniture and home-goods manufacturers. The biannual High Point Market, the furnishings industry’s largest gathering of manufacturers, importers and retailers, is the biggest economic event in the state with a $6.7 billion impact each year, according to a new report from the Global Value Chains Center at Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill. The spring market is April 6-10.
