Raleigh-based French/West/Vaughan acquired The Millerschin Group, one of Detroit’s leading transportation-focused marketing companies. Terms weren’t disclosed.
It’s the latest expansion by CEO Rick French, who has built the Southeast’s biggest PR firm with more than 130 staffers since its formation in 1997.
Millerschin Group’s Erin Millerschin started her eight-person agency in 2000 and now does work for Eaton, Mitsubishi Elective Automotive America and other clients. She’s the daughter of David Smith, former editorial director at Ward’s Auto and automotive reporter for The Wall Street Journal
Millerschin, president, and John Millerschin, chief operating officer, will be partnering with Rick French, who is a Detroit-area native. He’s stayed involved with the region by supporting Detroit Homecoming, an annual gathering that supports the city’s economic revival.
TMG will retain its brand name, joining AMP3 PR (New York City), CGPR (Boston), FWV Fetching (Tampa) and Prix Productions (Los Angeles) under the FWV umbrella.
“I’ve been looking for an opportunity to plant the FWV flag in the Motor City for more than a decade, but it had to be the right fit, with like-minded people,” French said in a release. “TMG has an outstanding reputation in the mobility and B2B sectors, both of which we view as growth opportunities for the agency, especially with so many automotive manufacturers and first-tier suppliers having already established significant operations in the South.
