Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank has named Karen Wimbish head of Wealth Management Product, overseeing product development and management. Wimbish will be based in Charlotte, where the bank employs about 620 people.
Wimbish previously worked at Wells Fargo & Co., where she was executive vice president and head of the retail retirement group. Previous posts include president of the Latin American Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, the San Francisco bank’s brokerage business. The Virginia native has a bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics from the University of Richmond.
U.S. Bancorp, parent of U.S. Bank National Association, is the nation’s fifth-biggest commercial bank, with about $454 billion in assets as of Sept. 30. The company has more than 3,100 offices in 25 states. The bank doesn’t have any retail branches in Charlotte.
