Eastern NC mayors rally to support Atlantic Coast Pipeline
Six mayors of cities and towns across eastern North Carolina have urged federal regulators to allow construction of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline to resume as soon as possible. The project was temporarily halted last year to allow courts to review federal permits. The mayors claim the project will bring new infrastructure, jobs with living wages and attract new industries to their regions. The letter was signed by Garysburg Mayor Roy Bell, Smithfield Mayor Andy Moore, Roanoke Rapids Mayor Emery Doughtie, Four Oaks Mayor Linwood Parker, Pembroke Mayor Greg Cummings and Mayor Cheryl Oliver of Selma.
