Curi adds CEO for financial advisory unit

Raleigh-based Curi, which provides insurance, investment and other products and services to physicians and others, said its Curi Capital financial advisory subsidiary hired Dimitri Eliopoulos as CEO. He comes from Chicago-based RMB, where he was partner and president of wealth management. He has an MBA from Northwestern University.

Curi Capital is a full-service adviser for high net-worth individuals and businesses with a main focus on serving physicians and their practices. Curi was formerly called Medical Mutual Insurance Co. of North Carolina, which was created in 1975.

The business joined forces last year with Cleveland-based MAI Capital Management, a registered investment adviser with eight offices. The move expanded the wealth and investment services that Curi started offering more than 10 years ago.

Last year, Curi Capital hired Mark Paccione as chief investment officer and chief operating officer. He previously was senior director of investment research at Raleigh-based CapTrust, one of the state’s largest financial advisory firms.

“We created Curi Capital to serve the physician community and those who support them first and foremost, but we know that the firm has the expertise and drive to help many more find and build true wealth,” Curi CEO Dale Jenkins said in a press release.
