Compensation soars for BNC Bancorp execs

Large stock awards sharply boosted the compensation of BNC Bancorp’s top executives in fiscal 2016, in what is likely to be the High Point bank’s final year as an independent institution. CEO Richard Callicutt II saw his compensation grow to $9.15 million from $1.21 million in 2015, while CFO David Spencer received $6.63 million, up from $910,054 a year earlier. Early this year, BNC agreed to be sold for $1.9 billion in stock to Pinnacle Financial Partners Inc. of Nashville, Tenn.
