Charlotte-based Pappas Properties plans a Tapestry Collection by Hilton Hotel and new office and retail space in its midtown Charlotte development near Atrium Health’s main campus and the Metropolitan mixed-use development. The 150-unit hotel will be the first Tapestry in Charlotte and second in North Carolina behind a Wilmington project. Like all great hotels of the 21st century, it will have a rooftop bar, enabling views of downtown Charlotte.
Pre-leasing has started for up to 210,000 square feet of office space and 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space at the corner of Kenilworth Avenue and Pearl Park Way.
“This new mixed-use component will be a great complement to the medical office buildings underway there and the new headquarters of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association that’s already been completed,” Pappas CEO Peter Pappas said in a statement.
Construction of the buildings is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2020. They will be adjacent to the new home of Atrium’s Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute. A second Atrium building will house clinical offices for neurology and digestive health.
JLL is handling pre-leaisng of the office and retail projects.
