CBRE hired Brett Gray as senior managing director and market leader in Charlotte, starting in November. He joins the national real estate services company from rival Cushman & Wakefield, where he has been managing principal since 2017.
Gray will oversee business operations and market strategy for all advisory service lines of business, including leasing, sales, debt and structured finance, valuation, and property management. He announced the shift in an August LlnkedIn post, while CBRE publicized the move today.
Compie Newman, who has led CBRE in Charlotte, is transitioning to a new role, the company said in a release.
“We are thrilled to welcome a 20-year industry veteran like Brett Gray to lead our Charlotte business,” said Chris Connelly, CBRE’s Advisory Services Group President East. “Brett has gained a solid reputation in the industry for building a culture of success for his teams and clients.”
Gray is on the executive committee of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance. The UNC Chapel Hill graduate ranks among the state’s most influential business executives, according to the Business North Carolina Power List.
“I am thrilled to join a world-class organization like CBRE, which has a differentiated financial position, top talent, and skilled leadership in Charlotte and across the globe,” Gray said.
