Carolina Motor Club to merge with Auto Club Group
Charlotte-based Carolina Motor Club, the AAA group of the Carolinas, and Michigan’s The Auto Club Group, the second-largest AAA club in North America, have agreed to merge and combine operations.
Subject to legal and regulator approval, the merged Auto Club Group will consist of 13 states, 9,600 employees and serve more than 12 million members.
“We look forward to delivering to our members the same legendary service, best-in-class membership benefits, and peace of mind they’ve come to expect from AAA,” Tiffany Wright, public relations manager for AAA Carolinas, wrote in an email.
The Carolina Motor Club group has a total of 720 employees, with 325 at its Charlotte location, according to the company’s NAICS Association profile page.
Financial details of the merger were not disclosed.
