Ken Canavan is leaving the E4 Carolinas nonprofit energy promotion group on Feb. 16 to become chief operating officer of Redwood City, California-based Hadron Energy, the Charlotte-based group said.
E4 Carolinas Board Chair Diane Denton says the group will “implement a thoughtful transition plan and expect minimal disruption to member programs, services, or ongoing initiatives. “
During Canavan’s two years as the group’s leader, E4 made progress in support of its mission, Denton said in a note to members. “As power demand is projected to grow significantly over the coming decades, E4’s mission has never been more critical,” she said.
The group says it promotes a “collaborative Carolina energy cluster” to promote economic growth, encourage efficient use of resources, and care for the environment.
Canavan is a veteran energy industry executive who was formerly chief technology officer at Westinghouse Electric.
