Biggest N.C. companies on Inc. 5000 fast-grower list

The press releases from fast-growing companies are flowing in, so it must be time for the annual Inc. 5000 ranking of firms with soaring revenues. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent as of Dec. 31, 2018. The ranking is based on percentage revenue growth from 2015 to 2018.

Firms with revenue of as little as $100,000 in 2015 qualify. So it’s really impressive that larger companies can still grow fast enough to stay on the list, year after year.

Here are the largest N.C.-based firms on the Inc. 5000 list.

  • Transportation Insight – Hickory $2.3 billion – logistics
  • Victra – Raleigh $1.5 billion – cell phone retailer
  • Quantico Tactical – Aberdeen  $492.5 million – government services
  • MegaCorp. – Wrightsville Beach $294 million – logistics
  • Congruity HR – Kernersville  $210 million – staffing
  • Raymer Oil – Statesville $153 million – oil jobber
  • AvidXchange – Charlotte  $125 million – software
  • Aeroflow Healthcare  – Asheville $118 million – medical equipment
  • Worldwide Insurance Network – Kernersville $111 million – nsurance
  • PowerHome Solar – Raleigh $103 million – solar power
  • Mako Medical – Raleigh $94 million – lab testing

Meanwhile, four N.C. companies ranked among the 100 fastest growers. Three are Triangle gaming or software companies. For the benefit of one of our favorite BNC readers, Jim Roberts, let’s also mention a Wilmington favorite.

34. Limited Run Games – Apex $20.8 million (gaming)

64. Trade Pending – Chapel Hill $5.8 million (software)

73. Pendo – Raleigh – $20.9 million (software)

100. PowerHome Solar – Mooresville $103 million (solar)

221. UnTapped – Wilmington $10 million (software)
