Why she chose to specialize in her fields
I (thankfully) fell into construction and business litigation and ran with it. The first thing I noticed about both areas was the type of client I was encountering: hard-working, salt-of-the-earth individuals and companies. I stayed for the clients.

An actress — assuming a complete suspension of reality and the elimination of all obstacles to get there.
Best advice received
Life isn’t meant to just be happy; it’s meant to be meaningful.

East of Eden by John Steinbeck. It’s still my favorite book. Every time I read it, different parts stand out to me.

Friends. That was before the age of binge-watching. My family and I used to anxiously await new episodes on Thursday nights at 7 p.m.
I was really into John Mayer … and The Grateful Dead, thanks to my dad. Apparently, they’re touring together now…
