Memorable case Recently I represented a longtime client and friend in selling his business. I had represented him in forming the business many years ago and on a very regular and steady basis over the years through the ultimate sale. I was very happy to see him get rewarded for all of the years of hard work that he and his wife put into the business, in building it up from a basic one-man consulting business into a very successful enterprise with locations in several states.

What he’d be if not a lawyer I wish I could say I would have been a professional golfer, but that was not a talent the Lord provided me with. I would likely have pursued my finance degree with the goal of getting into investment banking.

Best advice received Learn to listen well, know when to seek help from others, and read everything.

Favorite place I have not traveled to many places outside of the U.S., but my wife and I recently took a trip to South Africa to see one of my daughters. I was taken aback at how beautiful the scenery was. We are already talking about going back.

Recent reading The Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings books were fabulous and incredibly imaginative. I also really enjoy Tom Clancy novels.

Favorite TV show The series 24. My son and I enjoyed watching it together.
