Business North Carolina collaborated with NC TECH to create the Next Tech Award to recognize the Tar Heel state’s rising stars working at the state’s tech and tech-enabled companies. The award is meant to spotlight those individuals who often work in the trenches of an organization to push projects and objectives forward.
Supervisors and colleagues submitted nominations for the awards and a selection committee picked 10 winners in one of three categories: tech and innovation, tech professional and sales and marketing. The winners solve problems at work, make teams better and often contribute in ways that are not a formal part of the job description.
The winners’ profiles share what these individuals do at their jobs, why they chose careers in technology, the tech executives they admire and a tech skill we should all learn. They also share their concerns with artificial intelligence, and their passions outside of work.
It is an enlightening view of those who make processes run smoother or come to the rescue when an IT problem grinds productivity to a halt.
